Kaleidoscope is a sensory activity space for children inspired by the colorful, ever-changing nature of a kaleidoscope. The design features a central skylight shaft that brings dynamic light, shadow, color, texture, and sound into the space, encouraging exploration, curiosity, and spatial awareness in a safe, interactive environment.
Drawing inspiration from the fluid and vibrant nature of a kaleidoscope, this sensory space reflects the dynamic and evolving world of a child’s perception. The central light shaft creates a living play of illumination and color that crosses floors, fostering a semi-open communal area for safe exploration and interaction. Blending postmodern, parametric, and futuristic design elements, the space becomes a vibrant, tactile world where material, child, and experience converge in continuous motion and discovery.
